Don't worry so much about the National Awards..after all..how credible can a National Award be if Saif Ali Khan won best actor for Hum Tum and Shankar Ehsaan Loy won best music for Kal Ho Na Ho...honestly,, Filmfare has a better track record these days...pretty much the ONLY good National Award this year was Priyamani for Paruthiveeran..that movie should have won best film, director (Ameer) and actor (Karthi)....
i know a lot of this stuff is irrelevant in an ARR board...but i'm just trying to say taht we shouldn't worry too much that he didn't win...almost everyone agrees he's the best MD....also..remember that the National Awards tends to be biased towards Indian classical music..Ilayaraja's national awards were all for his classical albums (Sindhu Bhairavi, Sagara Sangamam, Rudra Veena)...ARR actually helped reversed this trend b/c his 4 National Awards were for varied soundtracks (Roja, Minsara Kanavu, Lagaan, Kannathil Muthamittal).. one more thing..let's not forget two of the National Award's biggest mistakes..Mani Ratnam never winning best director and Monisha Unni winnign best actress for Nagashtangal (i think her mom was on the jury)...we're lucky that ARR was able to win despite the odds (the idiocy and biased decision making of the people who give out the awards) THE BIGGEST AWARD ARR WON IS THE EARS OF MUSIC LOVERS!....HE IS THE KING OF INDIAN MUSIC SINCE 1992! --- In [email protected], "Kalyan K" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > This discrimination cleary shows that national awards are not fair and > transparent.
