Rawat,

I agree with you.But dont you think that rahman puts in maximum amount of
creativity in the music he composes? . Rahman does have role in lyrics, but he
cant suggest any major changes, the basic idea of lyrics to have, comes from
director, then the lyricist and then the composer role comes in....Here both the
lyricist and director are the same.

One good example is..Gulzar had written the lyrics of Chayyian Chayyian as
Thaiyyan Thaiyyan...but rahman had insited and got the words Chayyian
Chayyian.Correct me if i am wrong on this.

Thanks for your view on this. :-)

I think that is not a correct view of the situation.

Music Director is ultimately responsible for entire music including the
lyrics, the renderings, the instruments, whatever. Every person involved
in the creation of a song does what the Music Director asks him to do.
They all don't really have a free-will in it, but only have to use their
creativity.

So, saying that ARR is not responsible for lyrics is sort of undermining
ARR's efforts that he puts in his music.

Such small similarities of a phrase or two are not really a copying
becuase with so many movies and so many songs being composed, u will
soon find that all phrases have already been used so all new songs which
use these phrases will be counted as copied.

I think ARR or any MD is responsible for the lyrics also.
