Chord ... If they had been biased - wouldn't ARR also have won the "Best Singer" too?
While I agree that Filmare is more a popular choice award rather than "the real thing" is some cases - in ARR's case there is no such question. Omkara and Taare Zameen Par - both whilst great music albums aren't something that clicked with the masses in entirety - purely due to their themes (i mean the movie subject). The movies by itself might have done wonders but the music ...it was sections of people who liked sections of the album. Thats what the difference is with a Guru or a RDB. Even though I wont say it was a 100% success with one n all ...it was still much better received by people. Add to that the movie themes ..again populist themes ... Beyond that obviously the repeat quality and the lasting effect. I don't seem to recall Omkara songs still being played often in gatherings etc ...I do still hear RDB though .... Last but not least ...simply speaking ..there is no match to Rahman ....no comparison and absoutely no doubt that where stands ...he stands tall ...infact the tallest ...Filmfare acknowledging it barely stands testimony to that :-)) -A --- In [email protected], "Chord" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > I'm not really disputing Guru's deserving of awards as much as > filmfare's notoriety for being biased and selective, as has been the > case many a times in the past as well.
