Sneha Pant - desrious of singing in ARR music.

This is a good time to be in the film industry"

Born and brought up in Delhi, Sneha inherited her musical genes from her
mother. As luck would have it she started training under Shikha Ganguly and
her voice was heard by Anandji who persuaded her to meet his brother
Kalyanji in Mumbai. She did so and started training under him. Like several
other youngsters the tutelage he imparted refined her into a playback
singer. A chat with the talented singer:

Your song in Halla bol is interesting?

Yes. Sukhwinder Singh got me to sing in the Sufiana style. I believe AR
Rahman heard it and liked my voice so I'm hoping something may come from
there.

Is it difficult getting work?

No. I'm pretty chilled out. I don't get stressed about work. And yet
composers have been calling me to sing. That makes me happy. Today though
one may think that with so much competition getting work is difficult it's
not really. If you are talented, work comes to you. You don't have to be
cutthroat about it.

Which films have you sung for?

Plenty. Recently in Partner my 'Soni de nakhre change lag de' has become
popular, there are others Golmaal, My friend Ganesha, Masti, Hanuman etc.
I've sung with most music composers except Rahman and Jatin Lalit. This is a
good time to be in the film industry.

You trained with Kalyanji didn't you?

Yes, he taught me light singing which is very important for Palyback singing
in films. Earlier I felt that I could only sing classical and semi classical
songs because that was my training but after training with Kalyanji uncle I
can sing anything- naughty songs full of fun, light numbers dramatic number
and even Sufi numbers.. I sang in the famous 'Little Wonders' group which he
had founded. I also won the Mega finals of 'Sa re ga ma' on Zee TV. So I
came to be known here in Mumbai. Next year a lot of my songs will be
released in films like Halla bol, Black and white, Mr Fraud, Aisi Deewangee,
3 Sisters, and Monopoly etc.
