ARR: Its one of the culture..There are few interesting thngs in it.. if done without passion its not good..When they i came up with this idea i thought abt it a bit..But when they narrated the idea there was a small point and sense in it..U cant be blunt and blindly say its waste..So there is smthng in it..But its not everythng..In a way if u see its like showing respect to those composers when u present it to the next generation..Its a challenge..u have to be careful when doing it as u have to do it with respect..Thats like..Even If one drinks a cup of tea from MSV(M.S.Vishwanathan) or raja sir ( Ilayaraja) he will learn music. ( Personally I feel its the greatest way our boss can express his respect for IR and MSV - S.V.Nagaraj). That is the manner in which they have influenced tamil music.. So with so much of respect we have done that music.. abt rerecording.. part A:1:30 Interviewer: how did u do the Rerecording..did u do it then and there or got a chance to meet them during that... ARR: Normally, 2 months before the movie release they give me the movie to rerecord..But here i was asking them to give the movie..but they were still shooting it..So atlast they gave the movie..You can call this thing an achievement..becos the Background score was completed in 15 days..I had two plans ready as the film was to be released in diwali..I called praveen mani to do the Background score for 2nd half of the movie. Thought if I cant then we still release the movie for diwali with praveen's score. But managed to do it myself..Infact i had to redo and replace the BGM of Praveen mani in second half.. About Re recording as said by vijay abt arr: Part b : 4:40 Vijay: Few days back i saw the movie's RR..After seeing it i want to say a thing.. ( Takes a long pause ) The person AR Rahman from now on will be named as RR Rahman ( smiles with all of them ) ARR to vijay: Then u didnt like the songs? ( Asks jokingly ) Vijay:Oh oh..i didnt mean like that..I told u already i liked them.. just now i saw the RR.. Interviewer ar ARR: now u too have gotta punch line .. ( jokingly)..
