Hi Friends, Few days back I was listening to Holi re from Mangal Pandey. I find this song one of the most of different songs I have ever heard from boss. The reason is the way the song changes after 2:20 or the second half of the song. It is like almost a different song with a different tune. Even the humming oh ho oh ho.. at 2:40 is so different. The different beats and rhytm from second part of song. It was just amazing. First time when heard it on the music release day i didnt like it becos of its too many twists and turns. Mind doesnt accept a song which is so different immediately. Then after a few times it felt good. After a few years u feel if u listen its a new type of music altogether that has not been explored by MDs over the years. The amazing thing of abt this song is if u make someone listen to the first 2 minutes as ask them to predict how the second half of the song i am sure nobody other than our boss can guess it right:) Mostly one can guess the way the song would progess after the first 1-2 minutes of song. But this one .....is just different..infact it is the definition of the word different..I cant imagine how much boss wud have worked for this song becos he had to add so many things to it and also think unconventional..But the song was not well received by public becos it takes time to grow.. But thats ok.. This song i felt was meant for hardcore fans like us :) When I listen to songs like these I really really realy.. feel proud to be a fan of rahman. Becos none of the indian mds produce this kind of song. can we expect such a song fm Reshamaiya or HJ? :) Even Rahman of 90's was not trying songs like these.. So i felt it boss gives us so many different things with time...90's had a style.. 2000 had another.. i donno wat he has for 2010..? amazing..
Can anyone say abt the tech details of the song like what were raagas in which this song has been composed.. wat were names of the rhythm and beats used..etc.. Please share it if u know becos it will help us analyze more and enjoy more..also drop in ur thoughts abt the song.. Regards, S.V.Nagaraj
