Hi all,
I am so glad this topic has come up. Well i am in the same situation...at
Beijing for a summer internship at Nokia.
I am staying alone in an apartment too, but somehow loneliness seems to elude
me...thanks to the music of Rahman.
In fact I have never really felt away from India..The moment I switch on the
play button on my laptop, India with all its vigor and many colours fills up
empty space in the apartment.
When I listen to Kannamoochi, Narumugaye or kannodu Kanbathellam, there seems
to be an Indian Classical concert right here in Beijing.
When I play the folk songs from Sangamam, the villages of Tamil Nadu walk
right in.
And everal more such experiences....almost feels as if I am carrying the
essesnce of my country in my laptop and CDs...all through Rahman's magic.
And all this when I don't even understand the words of most of the songs
which are in Tamil.
Would love to know of the experiences of others.

I am sure many of you from our group would be working abroad, and staying
