Kalyan pens lyrics for Taj project TIMES NEWS NETWORK Bangalore: Ruthugalu bandu hoguthive, Yugagalu bandu hoguthive, Aadare preethi mathu preethiya smaraka shaswatha.’ This Kannada lyric by ‘Prema Kavi’ K Kalyan has been included in an album to be brought out by well-known music director A R Rahman for a campaign to include Taj Mahal in the list of Seven Wonders of the World. Kalyan, noted Kannada lyricist and music director, said: “I got a call from Rahman on Saturday to write the lyrics. I went to Chennai on Sunday to discuss the project, concept and the lyrics with him.’’ “ R a h m a n showed keen interest to know the meaning of each Kannada word and sentence and sang it with enthusiasm. He also suggested some changes in the lyrics,” he added. A highlight of Kalyan’s lyrics is that he has not used the word Taj Mahal anywhere. “This has been appreciated by Rahman. He wanted my lyrics to highlight the symbol of love that the Taj Mahal stands for.
