Hello Guys,

Here is the Troy sample from the movie Troy(music:James Horner) which i told you "reminds me" of the RDB sample during Jalianwala Bagh masacre.(the lady wailing)

Incidentally this sample features when the Greeks are killing the Trojans .I have not used any words (like inspiration ) here as it tends to create waves.

Just listen to the two tracks and comment on what you guys think. Thanks for all your positive feedback.Cheers,

I was prepared to ignore your mail after you mentioned
something like this last time (msg #63501) but since
you attached a clip I checked it out.

Yes, the samples sound similar but a couple of things
must be pointed out-

The Horner part (trumpet) you are referring to is the
infamous 4 note "danger" motif that he uses very
often. Just google for '4 note danger motif Horner'
and you'll come across lots of examples.

That being said the motif is not original to Horner.
Check out the clip in the 1st track from -
Rachmaninoff Symphony 1
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00000I7WG

It's just 4 notes. It could very well be inspiration
from Rachmaninoff... but I would say it is minor.

I don't agree with your point about ARR being a fan of
Horner. Lots of composers have used wailing motifs.
I'm not sure what you're referring to about the
wailing theme in Troy.
Just FYI, Horner borrows a lot of stuff from classical
music. Here's a discussion on that-
