Rahman joins hands with Nokia

Nokia today joined hands with music maestro A R Rahman for the
initiative " Pray For Me", under which a series of events and
activities would be conducted and the proceeds given to the poverty
alleviation programmes of the United Nations.
As part of this, Nokia today presented Indias first N91 music
smartphone to the musician.
A R Rahman has composed and sung a song "Pray for Me" along with
singer Blaaze, who has written the song. "The goal to eradicate
poverty, is the mission waiting to be fulfilled, raising awareness and
creating solutions through the song," Rahman said.
To support the "Pray For Me" music initiative, Nokia N-Series will be
conducting a series of events and activities across the country. The
proceeds generated from the activities and the sale of the album will
be donated to the United Nations charity towards poverty alleviation.
Gautam Advani, Director, Multimedia, Nokia India, said the company has
launched two N Series phones in India apart from this one and two more
are expected to be launched soon, he said.
Responding to a query, Rahman said the music industry was almost
destroyed by piracy in the last three years adding that devices like
the Nokia N91 could revive the industry.
The N91 provides a 4 GB Storage space, can store upto 3,000 songs,
apart from a host of other advanced functionalities. It is priced at
Rs 33,000.
Advani said the phone has a Digital Right Management System which
would prevent any kind of piracy to happen through such devices.
