Continuing my ramblings..

I think I missed out "Roobaroo" from the list of songs performed.

* ARR was very calm and relaxed. He was clad in a simple, plain white
Indian attire..
* Ethan Sperry was the music conductor for the evening. He was too
good and was totally involved with every single song that was played.
* ARR quipped towards the end of the show (paraphrasing) - "I think I
met Ethan 4-5 years back..around Christmas and I wished him Merry
Christmas. He said, Merry Christmas to you - I am
Jewish..."..smile.."When I was composing for Bose, I explained Ethan
about Sufism, Islam and the meaning of the song Zikhr. When he sent me
the list of songs that they had picked for this concert, the first one
in the list was Zikhr. This is a song that I normally would feel odd
about performing in my own show..because...you know."..
* He went on to add how this relationship is important and his wish to
go further & music crossing boundaries, etc..
* His ending comment.."If one of these students here becomes the
president (of the USA), I am sure there will be peace in the world..."
* Veerapandi - sounded great with 40 vocalists on stage..can't really
explain how amazing the experience was.
* The hall was packed - I didn't expect it as the general word around
Detroit before the concert was that since this wasn't going to be a
regular ARR show, not many were interested. Probably about 2500 people
in the audience.
* Every song was received well - obviously the crowd wanted ARR to
perform more. Vande Mataram, Shakalaka, Range De Basanti, Dil Se re
were some of the songs that drew the maximum cheer.
