hi Mirza, tapey
already i posted this reply for sashi mail, as small correction in sashi's desire. say bring back south indian singers who are best in tamil. becoz to count how many of them in the list below sashi gave are native tamilians? most of them are telugus & malayalis & as they are settled in madras for so many years they are good at tamil thats all. And north indians write lyrics in hindi to sing easily. Atleast tamilians should be proud of one thing to welcome and accept broad-mindedly, people from all regions and support them unbiased. To say as tamilians, we can count for, malaysia vasudevan, vani jayaram (that days guddi fame - bolo re pappi song), sunantha, surendar, uma ramanan & a.v.ramanan, anuradha sriram, hariharan, shrinivas, Shankar Mahadevan, Kavitha Krishnamurthy, Anupama, Malgudi Shubha, wow...USHA UTHUP from Mylapore, Madras, Nityasree Mahadevan.......mahalaxmi iyer, kartik, harini, tippu, chinmayee, and latest hot naresh iyer as far i know and yesteryear singers for black white movies quite a no. of tamil singers are there both in male & female, which i omitted. about other from 1980s there native is not tamil. so plse guys add to this list whom u know as native tamils plse extend the list. thanks Pankaj.
