Friends,

Many people are writing about Godfather music not being upto the mark.. Yes, I also felt the same way. But, I am convinced that the mediocre standard will be justified when the movie comes out. Personally, I don't expect much from a KS Ravikumar movie and dont want ARR to slog out and come out with exceptional songs which will be wasted in a MASALA movie like Godfather. I think ARR also know this and he has come up with songs which can satisfy Ajith's fans and the rural crowd. I also wouldn't write off the album completely, ARR still provided the true music lovers with lovely numbers like "Katril oru vaarthai", "Theeyil Vizhunda" and "Innisai". Hats off ARR.

Actually, I wanted to start another thread about a strange and interesting thing I have noticed with some of ARR's albums. We all know that ARR has come out with numerous outstanding albums. But, some of his "otherwise perfect" albums had one/two ordinary songs which sound completely out of place. Below are some instances:

Duet (Tamil) -  "Kathirikai" and "Kulicha Kuthalam"
Swades (Hindi) - "Dekho Na" (Rework of baba song)
Taal (Hindi) - "Kahin Aag Lag"
Yuva (Hindi) - "Kabhi Neem Neem"

These are some of the songs I could remember. I am not saying that these songs are not good. Somehow, I feel that these songs doest fit in the context of the respective album. Even now when I play these albums I prefer to skip these tracks. Has anyone else felt the same way?

Younus
