One good suggestion i can give from posting of dvaidya. That is, he says 80% of Hindi Fans are not aware of ARR's works in other languages. That may be correct. So why cannot fans of hindi belt come forward to advertise in local news dailies and small dailies like tabloids about the growth of our group. Like saying Hey Guys! A warm welcome to u all to Join ARRfans group at Yahoo group which grows like a lava in volcano. To share news, views & interesting titbits Register free in yahoo groups which already owns 1000s of members. Be proud to be in one such big group and enjoy. Since this is a public forum, one can not decide / control on the
topics which are discussed amongst the members, however seeing the past
messages and the content discussed, I have few suggestions.
1. Messages on "IF / when an album is being released" should
voluntarily reduce and hopefully, KM Musiq, being directly involved in
music industry, should give this information for theirs as well as
other releases in related links option. Recently almost 80% messages
posted were about GF music release right from if it is released in
Malaysia first or in Canada.
2. This forum is of ARR music lovers and rightfully, discussions and
focus should centre on his music. Also experts should give their take
on ARRs music arrangement, lyrics, & special stories from the close
ones ( vijay Iyer, and others ) and exchange of odd information, stage
performances and its feedback, information from Blogs, etc.
3. This group has done tremendous job in creating awareness about BGMs
as a special work of art by focusing on this part of the music
directors talent. Likewise This group, can become supporter of new
talent, can create a forum to encourage new singers, remix creaters,
musical performances on ARR songs etc.
4. It would be a great idea if the learned ones in this group can
translate the song lyrics from Other languages to English ( as a
transit language ) or diretly between two languages to create awareness
on the meaning of the song which will definitely enhance the beauty of
the song. Being a non-Tamil speaking person, I feel half satisfied
listening to ARR songs in Tamil as I am ZERO in understanding the
lyrics. I feel I ought to know the meaning. Experts can take the lead
to start doing one album per month.
5. In Pune, we have a group called "RESONANCE" which had put up great
programmes in the past based on Rahman's film music. They are now
thinking of planning a programme in which Rahmans NON-Hindi songs will
be sung by local artist in local languages, say Hindi or Marathi, thus
making others aware of the depth of ARR's talent in Tamil / Telugu etc.
Speaking to ARRahman fans in this part of the world, I find that almost
80 percent of his fans are not aware of ARR's work in other languages.
This needs to change. Similar programmes can be encouraged by this
fangroup to further popularise the music and spread the fan base.
This, and many such issues, I feel the group can take up. If the
Moderators and prommotors of this group also feel it that way, a
concious effort can be done.
I Welcome your suggestions and comments. Thanks to GOPAL, we have
already got a great forum to discuss Rahmans music ! Let's ensure that
it continues to be the leader of all groups !
