wow!!:) this really is something dreamy, inspite of gopal's warnings to not get all excited. We should do something really different and try out what has not been ever done before! Having said that, here are ideas that Im sure have been tried before, and many times:) : - Premier theatres (multiplexes) can be selected for publicity through movie beginning spots (trailers) --- a prelude to ARR. - Radio jingles advertising his music. - Short movies, documentary kinds about his music, musical history, future, scope, influences, well that kind of thing, his interviews. I would love to buy something like that! - A website with his complete musical reportaire, giving the option to select music and create our own album and buy it. i think hmv has a feature like that. - cassettes with booklets offering more information than just lyrics and summary of all people involved. u know, each cassette/cd can be used to advertise more cassettes/cds. (especially new stuff, or rare stuff or stuff that rahman would like ppl to listen) - pricing moderate, naturally, but for some special releases should not refrain from charging big. like a special photographs coffee table book. - possibly tie up with some coffee shops, or cool places(!!!), for some information kiosk, which can be used to promote rahman's music, etc. especially so, some days before the release of anything. - probably print rahman's music's musical sheet notations, for musicians to read and recreate. - find a way to sell rahman's tamil music north of south india!!!
