Thanks a million Mr DCosta, for posting this wonderful interview. > Subhash K Jha > > I've worked hard on each of > these themes. But the end-result hasn't been worth it. The ends results of music were good. The films were poor. I also felt equally frustrated. I consider 1947 Earth to his best ever album, but the film had butchered his songs as never before and after. > Composing tunes is my job. I think Subhash Ghai is a spent force. Even he had shot that song on the lead pair, he would not have been able to bring any magic in it. It takes ones like Shankar to bring the magic out of songs. Recall the disheartened views of the fans at the time of release of nayak audio. So many were dis-satisfied with ruukhii suukhii roTii etc. but after seeing it, it appeared a lovely song. Manirathnam flip-flops when it comes to picturisation of songs. Yuva songs were nothing special in picturization but, say, Dil Se songs were beautifully picturised. For that matter, ai ajanabii was pushed to background and thayyaa thayyaa was dropped from the film. -- Rawat This August, Discover the Birth of Your Independence and The Magic of A.R.Rahman's Music in Mangal Pandey - The Rising http://www.risingthefilm.com http://www.mangalpandeythefilm.com Music released: Jul 14, 2005 Movie releases: Aug 12, 2005 Explore, Experience, Enjoy A.R.Rahman - The Man, The Music, The Magic.
