hi all,
I bought my rising copy yesterday and had my first hearing on it today morning.I am now hearing it the fifth time and writing this mail....

At first i want to quote some points before hearing this album:

i..If u are in need of a commercial stuff then don't go in to hear it...U will definitely get dissapointed(as quoted by adnan).People who are interested in classic and research stuff can proceed.
ii.Preparae ur mind set to the film's backdrop..thats the mid 19th century..to be specific 1857 as the film says 1857-The Rising...
iii.Mind these are the songs for director's interests and songs that suit the situations in the film.
iv.I would recommend u all to hear this album in a good head phone rather than bose or creative 5:1 or 7:1...I would also recommend u to imagine ur own visuals of 19th century so that u will enjoy it more that what it is.....
v.Now lets move on to my humble review abt this classic album...

This is one album u will enjoy greatly with ur imagined visuals before the film releases and u will feel more joyous after the release of the film....

.....IT'S GOING TO BE A SURE HIT....

Also i have a point to make to adnan..

Don't post bad reviews abt the album within 1 or 2 days of release. It makes others too disappointed. But i am the one who believes "ARR NEVER DISSAPOINTS".
If u don't like, its ur opinion.Opinions may differ. If u don't like it mention the point that this is not good, this is bad....if its a valid point...o.k...accepted.
simply saying i am dissapointed proves nothing...it only proves ur unfaith in RAHMAN and why not u leave the group...

MY REVIEW....

Mangal Mangal-Track 1-kailash kher...(10/10)

It definitely took me to the 1857 period...The kailash kher's starting is superb in that background silence or a silent chord. When the beat started i felt i am travelling in an elephant.
I felt lot of joy when hearing this song. It's surely haunting.I was stuck to it from my second listening.

Main vari vari-Track 2-Kavitha krishnamurthy,Reen Bharadwaj...(8/10)

It definitely will not stick to u in the first listening. But now i love this song.Mind it really sounds tough to compose.I think Rahman ji too mentioned this one. There is nothing wrong with the voice of kavitha ji in this song. Its simply superb. Her voice is apt for this mujra.

The song which Rahman mentioned tough to compose in lagaan was O rey chori where he blendend the english composition with the hindi one...

Holi Re-Track 3-Aamir khan,udit narayan,Madhushree,srinivas,chinmaye...(8.5/10)

I loved this song from the second listening.Yes..He has used his old beats from daud and kadhalar dinam. But see how the beats blend with the song. The classical sense of this song is great. There is nothing to say that it is not upto A R Rahman standards here.

One Question : What do u guys think as an A R Rahman standard? Is is simply commercial stuff and techno beats...its not that...He can do his best given any film by any director...Thats according to me his standard...Satisfies the need of the screenplay and director by his music to his best...

Rasiya-Track 4-richa sharma,bonnie chakraborty...(10/10)

This is the pick of the album.I liked, loved this song from the word go.Its a great composition. Many small, small music comes in the middle..u can get it when u hear it in a head phone.Again its classical sense is great.Richa sharma sounds great in this song. This is again a situational song...

Mangal mangal(Agni)-Track 5-kailash kher...(10/10)

This is the song i felt travelling in an elephant rather than the track 1.kailash kher's voice sounds ap to this period song. Its great...

Takey Takey-Track6-sukhwinder singh,kailash kher,kartick das baul and ARR's children

This is the second song which i liked somewhat from the first hearing and now couldn't resist myself humming this song.Great song.Again situational. Both sukhw and khailash's voice have blended with the background and it sounds great.Good use of the children's chorus.Again this guy khailash's voice has some magic. It really suits for a period film...I am saying it from my imagined visuals...opinions differ..

Al madath maula-Track 7-a r rahman,kailash kher,murtaza,kadir(7/10)

This is the only song i was not in hold of after 3 listenings. But now slowly it is getting into me.It doesn't have the depth as Alla uh from Bose. Its surely divine.Something specific is the song ends in style.

Mangal Mangal(Aatma)-Track 8-Sukhwinder singh,kailask kher(9.5/10)

In this song sukhwinder singh joins hands with kailash kher..It starts slowly similar to desh mere(sad version) and picks up.In this song interestingly i didn't get a feel i am travelling in an elephent.

My pick of the album:

Rasiya...great composition...
mangal mangal....

catchy:

takey takey

Expecting all ur guys feedback abt this review.....and ur points to add abt these classic songs...

Natesh.R....
