Hi,

I noticed my apple macbookpro is turning 10 next year, it's time to get a new one.  I'm wondering what you would suggest, a qualcomm snapdragon based laptop (which has more RAM than the competitor for almost same price), or the apple macbookpro M2/3?

I recently saw some commits regarding the wifi card on the snapdragon.  Also I don't want to run OpenBSD natively immediately I want to give it 2 or 3 years first on windows as there is some programming I need to do on that platform.  So in that regard, is it worth getting an M3 if I do go with apple?  Or should I try to find an M2 which is supported with OpenBSD?  It's hard to tell what support will be there in the future.

If you have experience with these architectures with OpenBSD which has the better future in your eyes?  It's a major investment for me, so I am very careful now (and I'm asking here with some worry of being bothersome).

Best Regards,

-peter

PS: I currently only have 2 VPS's and 2+ hardware that are amd64 still, most others are ARM64 or even RISCV64, as time progresses I want to phase out the amd64, it's time to bury that era.  This macbook pro (from 2015), is already bulging in the case, I hope it's not the battery, but it could have bent in my backpack.
