This might not be an issue with any particular mirror. I've seen broken tcp connections on the pinebook pro before. Its especially noticable with the "ftp" tool, but i belilieve i've seen it with longer running ssh too.
It might be a problem of the bwfm(4). If you can, try the install with some other usb ethernet or usb wifi adapter. If that does not help, put the releaseon a usb stick and install the tgz from disk in the installer.
