In accordance with the Policy Development Process (PDP), the Advisory Council
met on 19 February 2026.

The AC has abandoned the following Draft Policy:

*ARIN-2024-5: Rewrite of NRPM Section 4.4 Micro-Allocation

The AC issued the following statement:

"After a number of revisions and community consultations, the Advisory Council
has voted to abandon Draft Proposal ARIN-2024-5, Rewrite of NRPM Section 4.4
Micro-Allocation. While the overall goals of the proposal have received
community support and the discussions around it have been robust, it is
apparent from recent feedback (both from the floor at ARIN 56 and on PPML) that
the proposal does not meet the level of community support that a comprehensive
rewrite of a section warrants.

The Advisory Council welcomes policy proposals to address language in Section
4.4 that the community has indicated most in need of updating; in particular,
addressing acceptable uses of allocations under this section, clarifying
whether IXP resources may be globally routed, and requirements for
organizations who are requesting additional allocations under this section.

As always, the ARIN Advisory Council thanks the community for their valuable
input regarding this proposal."

Anyone dissatisfied with this decision may initiate a petition. This petition
request must occur within seven days after the announcement date of the
Advisory Council action. The petition against abandonment deadline for
ARIN-2024-5 is 3 March 2026.

The AC is continuing to work on:
