Hello PPML, I’m writing to give you all an update on 2025-8: Reserve 4.10 Space for In-Region Use after our Public Policy Meeting in October and completion of the Staff and Legal review.
This policy was presented as a draft at ARIN 56 in Texas<https://www.arin.net/participate/meetings/ARIN56/day1_transcript/#draft-policy-arin-2025-8-reserving-4-10-space-for-in-region-use>. There was no concern from the attendees at the meeting about this policy and it received positive feedback. The community was in agreement that this policy will bring the NRPM (specifically 4.10) into alignment with how ARIN staff are already interpreting the policy. The staff and legal review, completed November 12, reaffirms this intention: “This policy does not alter existing review practices; it formally documents the longstanding approach ARIN staff has used and will continue to apply.” With this in mind, we plan to move the policy to recommended draft at our December meeting. My question to the ppml: is the language of the policy sufficient and do you agree that this policy should be moved to recommended draft status? Policy statement below for reference: Change the second sentence in NRPM Section 4.10 from: “This IPv4 allocation will be set aside and dedicated to facilitate IPv6 deployment.” to: “This IPv4 allocation will be set aside and dedicated to facilitate IPv6 deployment within the ARIN service area” Thanks all, Kaitlyn Kaitlyn Pellak Amazon – Technical Business Developer II <mailto:> 301.921.5566 [/Users/tinam/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.Outlook/Data/Library/Caches/Signatures/signature_1323502979]
