Hello PPML, We’re seeking community input on this draft policy that proposes a clarification to NRPM section 6.5.8.2 regarding assignments for organizations with a single site.
*The current text states:* “An organization qualifies for an assignment on the next larger nibble boundary when their sites exceed 75% of the /48s available in a prefix.” * It then provides the example*: “More than 1 but less than or equal to 12 sites justified, receives a /44 assignment,” which implies that a single site should receive a /48. However, as noted in the problem statement, 1 /48 exceeds 75% of the /48s in a /48 (i.e., 1), which could be read to mean a single-site organization qualifies for a /44 *The proposed policy change adds the following clarification*: “…unless they only have a single site.” Learn more about Draft Policy ARIN-2025-7 here: https://www.arin.net/participate/policy/drafts/2025_7 This draft is open for discussion, and we invite the community to weigh in: - Does this revision resolve the inconsistency? - Is the intent of the policy clear with this change? - Should the AC continue advancing this draft, suggest revisions, or consider alternative approaches? We look forward to your feedback. Best regards, Lily On behalf of your shepherds, Leif and Lily
