In accordance with the Policy Development Process (PDP), the Advisory Council (AC) met on 20 September 2018.


The AC has classified the following as an editorial update:

* ARIN-prop-255: NRPM Cleanup
* ARIN-prop-256: Modify 8.3 and 8.4 for Clarity

Per Part One, Section 3.1 of the PDP:

"Changes to policy that are purely editorial and non-substantial in nature are outside the scope of the full Policy Development Process and may only be made with 30 days public notice followed by the concurrence of both the ARIN Advisory Council and ARIN Board of Trustees that the changes are non-substantial in nature."

These will be posted separately for discussion.



The AC has advanced the following Draft Policy to Recommended Draft Policy status (will be posted separately):

* Draft Policy ARIN-2018-4: Clarification on Temporary Sub-Assignments

The AC advances Draft Policies to Recommended Draft Policy status once they have been fully developed and meet ARIN's Principles of Internet Number Resource Policy. Specifically, these principles are:

* Enabling Fair and Impartial Number Resource Administration

* Technically Sound

* Supported by the Community



The AC is continuing to work on:

Recommended Draft Policies

* ARIN-2017-12: Require New POC Validation Upon Reassignment
* ARIN-2018-1: Allow Inter-regional ASN Transfers
* ARIN-2018-3: Remove Reallocation Requirements for Residential Market Assignments

Draft Policies

* ARIN-2018-2: Clarification to ISP Initial Allocation and Permit Renumbering
