In accordance with the ARIN Policy Development Process (PDP), the ARIN
Advisory Council (AC) met on 15 May 2014.
The AC recommended the following to the ARIN Board for adoption:
Recommended Draft Policy ARIN-2014-4: Remove 4.2.5 Web Hosting Policy
Recommended Draft Policy ARIN-2014-7: Section 4.4 Micro Allocation
Conservation Update
Recommended Draft Policy ARIN-2014-10: Remove Sections 4.6 and 4.7
The AC moved the following to last call:
Recommended Draft Policy ARIN-2013-7: NRPM 4 (IPv4) Policy Cleanup
The AC accepted the following as Draft Policies. They will be
posted separately to the Public Policy Mailing List (PPML).
ARIN-prop-209 Change Utilization Requirements from last-allocation to
total-aggregate
ARIN-prop-208 Reduce All Minimum Allocation/Assignment Units to /24
ARIN-prop-207 Section 4.10 Austerity Policy Update
ARIN-prop-205 Allow Inter-RIR ASN Transfers
ARIN-prop-204 Removing Needs Test from Small IPv4 Transfers
Having found the following to be fully developed and meeting ARIN's
Principles of Internet Number Resource Policy, the AC recommended these
for adoption (each to be posted separately for discussion as a
Recommended Draft Policy):
Draft Policy ARIN-2013-8: Subsequent Allocations for New Multiple
Discrete Networks
Draft Policy ARIN-2414-12: Anti-hijack Policy
Draft Policy ARIN-2014-13: Reduce All Minimum Allocation/Assignment
Units to /24
The AC remanded the following proposal to the originator after the
proposal originator asked to withdraw the proposal.
ARIN-prop-206 Implement IPv6 from IPv4 Without an Outage
The AC abandoned the following:
Draft Policy ARIN-2014-2: Improving 8.4 Anti-Flip Language
The AC provided the following statement:
"Review of the PPML, the record of discussion and polling at the Chicago
PPM and the original author's statement of willingness to withdraw the
proposal indicate a lack of consensus. The ARIN AC has therefore decided
to abandon Draft Policy 2014-2 Improving 8.4 Anti-Flip Language. The AC
recognizes that some community members believe this to be an important
issue and encourages those members to investigate a means to solve the
problem statement that the Draft Policy was focused upon. You may find a
record of this on the ARIN website."
The AC abandoned ARIN-2014-2. Anyone dissatisfied with this decision may
initiate a petition. The deadline to begin a petition will be five
business days after the AC's draft meeting minutes are published. For
