Virginia Ballot Access Assembly The Libertarian Party of Virginia is calling for ALL people that believe Virginians should have more than 2 choices on the presidential ballot this November to peacefully assemble at the Richmond US District Courthouse (https://lpvirginia.us14.list-manage.com/track/click?u=f0fd0efbdea7349b06aa91046&id=d36fafaa63&e=43edc4966d) steps starting at 8:30 am Friday 6/19 (https://lpvirginia.us14.list-manage.com/track/click?u=f0fd0efbdea7349b06aa91046&id=7e92fdca7e&e=43edc4966d) . Signs supporting ballot access are encouraged. It is recommended to be prepared with a statement for the press and dressed to come inside for the hearing. It's likely we won't have a chance to speak but it is always good to be prepared.
LPVA Chair Dominick Dunbar released this statement: "This Friday, June 19th, Libertarians and other Independent Voters will be gathering at the Federal Courthouse in Richmond seeking to be heard. The state Attorney General's office has filed opposition claiming the need to prevent “voter confusion." More people identify as independent than either Republican or Democrat so the only real voter confusion is why there are not more candidates on the ballot. Election rules are written by incumbents and, not surprisingly, tend to favor incumbents. Minority Parties and Independent candidates can bring new voters, new ideas and real life to political campaigns. They should be encouraged, not blocked by incumbents intent on maintaining their privileges." Primary day presents a unique opportunity to gather signatures of engaged verified voters in the same locality.
