This should not give much more info compared to the lsof method tried earlier,
but here is goes:

Ports reserved in /etc/services? AFAIK those do not *reserve* anything, they
just*descrive ports.
But.

# grep -w 8880 /etc/services

cddbp-alt 8880/udp # CDDBP

After commenting out those lines in services:
