For looking into the initramfs, there always is "lsinitcpio" to inspect those…
While you're at it, make sure the mdadm.conf is included.

Turns out it was an upstream issue, fixed, but that somehow slipped
through in the mdadm 4.5 package. Arch has already fixed the issue and
the package is in testing and should show up in core very soon.
