Thanks for the feedback, Carsten. Lets say the minimum requirement would be to explain how vendors can extend the voucher format WITHOUT YANG (too keep it simple) with just JSON or CBOR data. If that data then happens to randomnly contain also something where YANG was used to defin it, then that YANG could be fully disconnected from the voucher YANG data model, no augment required. Eerything else would unnecessarily suck poor vendors into the ugly world of IETF YANG models.
Yes, i very well imagine that the YANG overloads did not imagine this to be something of interest. On the other hand, i think it's fair to say that vouchers as artefacts in "east-west" protocols is also not what YANG was originally meant to be used for. I think it was Yokohama where we had a good discusison about this with a bunch of ADs in the room. We just need to be persistent with what we need to make the protocols we develop easily successful. If YANG overloads ultimately make it too difficult to do that then maybe we should say goodbye to YANG for these type of uses.
