*GENERAL SUMMARY*:
The Systems Programmer provides technical support for the mainframe
platform. The position must acknowledge and respond to all reported and
observed anomalies on the platform. The role also provides technical
support for the legacy development staff and for the program products
running on the platform.
The current configuration is an* IBM mainframe z114 running z/OS version
2.1*.
Peripheral hardware devices are a 3494 ATL, a 7720 VTL, and a DS8884. SKLM
is used to encrypt and decrypt the data written to physical tapes.
*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS*
*Required Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:*
- Knowledge of IBM mainframe architecture and peripheral devices
- Configuration of z/OS and associated IBM program products
- Knowledge of storage and network concepts
- Excellent problem solving capabilities
- Ability to learn quickly and work independently
- Off hours and weekend support are required, as needed
*Required Length and Type of Experience:*
- At least 1 year working in a z/OS shop
