Sorry, I only just got around to checking for replies to this question. Yes, it does, but I thought the exit animation was applied to the activity that is being replaced by the new one. In fact I tested it, and it does.
So, I can control the animation of the new activity as it starts, and the animation of the previous activity it replaces... but I can't find a way to control the animation of the new activity when it pauses... i.e. ends and returns to the first activity.
