ys, u can hide status bar and u can show your application in fullScreen
try this code
write it after SetContentView(Not compulsary , i use it in this manner)

getWindow().setFlags(WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_FULLSCREEN,

WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_FULLSCREEN);
