c1 = Calendar.getInstance();
           c1.setTimeZone(TimeZone.getTimeZone("GMT"));

           String nowDate = ((Integer)c1.get(Calendar.YEAR)).toString()
+"-"+((Integer)c1.get(Calendar.MONTH)).toString()+"-"+
((Integer)c1.get(Calendar.DAY_OF_MONTH)).toString()+" " +
((Integer)c1.get(Calendar.HOUR_OF_DAY)).toString()+":"+
((Integer)c1.get(Calendar.MINUTE)).toString()+":"+
((Integer)c1.get(Calendar.SECOND)).toString();

this produces the string 2008-2-24 11:59:23 when the month is March
(pc time is ok, emulator time is messed up??)
