Great, I wanted to write exactly the same, I have my accommodation booked
(thanks, KDE e.V.) and currently just researching for a cheapest flight (damn
air companies).

Nice, I should be able to help, but first I need some first-hand experience
that
will come with reimplementing MTP in Amarok.
