UAC2 support was added to the kernel, I think 2.6.35+, in late May 2010.
It was submitted by Alex Lee to support a hamradio high end USB sound
card which also included control circuitry for the Softrock amateur
transceivers.
The project is called the SDR-Widget.
I initially confirmed it worked at 192K samplerate with my E-MU 0404 USB
as did Alex and others with SDR-Widget hardware Alpha builds.
It is in daily use by myself and others with the SDR-Widget and other
sound cards capable of 192K samplerate. It is part of USB sound.
