Hello guys,
Not very experienced with Linux sound, sorry if my question doesn't belong to
this list.
Acer Revo 3610 desktop
Ubuntu 10.10
alsamixer v1.0.23
HDA Intel card with Realtek ALC662 rev1 chip
HDA NVidia card with NVidia GPU0b HDMI/Dp chip
The desktop is connected to my Samsung UA46B8000 tv via the HDMI port. I'm
running XBMC 2.10.1 to play media from the USB 2.0 attached HDD via the Acer
HDMI on the Samsung tv.
Everything's working fine with the only exception that the sound on the mp3s,
avis, internet radios, etc. has a strange high pitched background static-kind
of
noise. It only happens when there's sound coming out from the speakers, not a
constant one.
Sorry, I can not describe it better, but I can take a sample and upload it
somewhere to better clarify it.
If I watch any of the TV channels, play DVD, it never happens, only via the
Acer. I found the following in the user.log file, but not sure if that 'static
noisy' is caused by the delay, but I'm using the NVidia and not the Intel sound
card for sound output.
