OS: Mint 10
Codec: VIA VT1708BCE
Symptom: no sound at all with Linux Mint 10 autodetect parameters
(alsa-base.conf)
Summary: No sound at all. Inserting "options snd-hda-intel
model=generic" into 'alsa-base.conf' brings the sound to
life but with limited support (volume control, capture to name a few).
I have tried a lot of combinations but none have been capable of
recognizing codec VIA VT1708BCE.
Alsa-info.sh was run and it is available at
