Please don't top post on this list.

I don't use skipe but maybe that the following can help you. I get problem with
flash on firefox. After some time, the sound from flash was just gone. The
solution was to use jack as sound server. 

Hope this can help. With that setting, I can have firefox running under days or
weeks without any problem and flash is just doing fine. Another advantage is
that all the sound related programs will be using jack. For more details:

Note that you will not need a rt kernel if you are not using a lot of soft
synthesizers or audio filters.
