I have 2 motherboards. both are gigabyte MA78GM one motherboard has suffix MA78GM-US2H (no sound) the other MA78GM-S2HP (sound works) both give the same result from lspci -n
1002:960f I have tried different model=XXXX in /etc/modprobe.conf as snd-hda-intel options but nothing has worked for sound over HDMI. I am using centos 5.3 x86_64. I have set the /etc/asound.conf for the correct hw:1,3 for HDMI as reported from aplay -l.
