I've tried all I could, I need your help with this.
I have an intel ICH5 (AC97) integrated sound card on an i865PERL:
00:1f.5 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corporation 82801EB/ER (ICH5/ICH5R)
AC'97 Audio Controller (rev 02)
It was working just fine until linux kernel 2.6.20.21. Starting with 2.6.21,
the mic is not recording anything anymore. I've the two kernels built with the
same configuration, 2.6.20 works, anything above 2.6.21 doesn't.
Everything else, like playback on 6 channels and even line-in works fine, only
the microphone is silent.
According to the changelog of 2.6.21 there were some fixes in the mixer option
handling of the AC97 devices which is supposedly made it work. Well, not for me
;)
The capture is enabled and volume is up. If I select line-in as capture
source, I got the input. If I select the mic, I got silence. I've tried both
mic1 and mic2.
Got anybody any idea what should I try?
