Thanks to Jordi Mallach: The Alsa modules need to be updated to 1.16 for the maestro3.
(m-a is the module assistant, you may need to get that first). aptitude alsa-source m-a prepare m-a build alsa m-a install alsa I tried alsaconf first, but needed to reboot to get it working.
