AFAIK, spdif passthrough never worked correctly. At some point it did work on my machine, it was with the same kernel and the same alsa release. Which is rather puzzling. Anyway, I'll try the various rc releases between 1.0.12 (which produce no sound wiht the ALC883) and current hg version. > I doubt that anyone has time to work on hardware-specific issues > like this.
