Hi, I'm running Kubuntu Edgy Eft on my Dell Inspiron 1300, and I just
upgraded to the latest stable alsa release because I saw that the changelog
mentioned that the mic problem for STAC92xx codec was finally fixed.
Unfortunately, mine is still not working. I had found a workaround to this
problem under the old alsa drivers by appending 'options snd-hda-intel
model=ref' to my /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base file. This would get my mic
working, but it would stop working after suspending to RAM. I'm wondering if
someone could tell me if there is an "official" way to get the mic working
now that it has officially been fixed in the changelog?
Let me know. Thanks.
-Jake
