As a result, I would avoid Creative sound cards from now onwards. We 
don't have an open source driver for the X-Fi and also no datasheets, so 
there will not be one any time soon. Users like yourself therefore have 
no option but to avoid Creative products in Linux due to lack of support.

I, as the main driver developer for Creative sound cards, am totally 
stunned by the attitude of Creative at the moment. I would recommend 
Linux users avoid Creative at the moment.
