Hi All,
Myself Vishwas from India.
I'm currently working on porting ALSA to a custom platform/audio chip and facing issues with recording.
The issue is that I hear sound too loud even if I keep the Mic gain at a minimum.
To record sound without noise, I need to keep the Mic quite far off from me, speak with a very low voice else I hear noise/audio clipping.
For the same H/W and Mic configuration (Mic gain etc) OSS driver produces very feeble sound while ALSA/arecord makes loud sound and hence noise/clipping.
I tried keeping the Mic gain at the lowest possible value but I still hear noises.
Is there something that does software boosting of recorded samples? I'm suspecting this because for the same H/W and Mic config OSS produces very feeble sound.
Pl let me know your thoughts on this.
Thanks in advance
Vishwas
