sorry, forgot to check address, and gmail sent the first copy to Simeon :/ So, model=generic is being ignored, then. It doesn't seem to be alternating consistently between working and not with module reloads - that must have been a fluke. If I just reload until alsactl complains about the missing control #3, I get working audio.
