I'll explain it for Debian/Ubuntu: a) It will Just Work(tm) (most of the time, if udev/hotplug/discover is installed) b) By hand: First card: $ modprobe snd-YOURCARD Second card: $ modprobe snd-YOURCARD2 c) Automatically on boot: Add lines with "snd-YOURCARD" to /etc/modules in the order you want your soundcards to appear. Look up what to put in place of "YOURCARD" in the soundcard matrix or ask here.
