I have a Intel ICH5 card with C-Media electronics CMI9780 chip. (Most will know it from the medion 8080 XL PC sold in european warehouses)
I'm running default ubuntu dapper 6.06. I have sound comming from the two front speakers. But I can not get 5.1 sound from it using alsa. I've had the help of the people in #alsa on freenode. But nothing came thru. I'm a newly converted linux user, so I'm a bit lost in this.
