I hope someone else jumps in here since I am at the limits of my knowledge.
I certainly do not think that you should recompile your kernel. You should make sure that the kernel source you are using is the source (kernel-source*.i386.rpm) is for the kernel you are running. However, the conflicting file is part of the glibc development library. Actually in my file /usr/include/linux/gfp.h I have no definition of gfp_t at all I am using glibc-devel-2.3.3-23.1.101mdk on mandrake, but I strongly doubt they would have changed it.
