Greetings; A friend gave me a dvd to listen too and to make a few copies (its freely copyable). He says it has sound on it but all I can get is circuit noises.
Everything else on the system has working sound, and I've used vlc to play dvd's many times. card is an audigy 2 value, kernel is 2.6.18-rc4, vlc is client 0.4.5 I just found that vlc had no audio decoder selected for mpeg, but when I select one, and then try to open the iso file of the dvd, vlc shows the opening screen for about a second and then it all goes away. So I removed the selection, but it still goes away. Nothing is being logged, so I'm a wee bit clueless. Does anyone else have an idea what might be wrong? -- Cheers, Gene "There are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and ammo.
