As we have already/recently established, developers do not to write down
cards' settings during testing.

Also, there was a recent thread in which a user was asked about chips
on the card, and the developer confirmed that the card should be supported
- which means another card with the same name, but different chips, may
be not supported.

And M-Audio Revolution 5.1 in the card matrix is claimed to be supported
to the same extent as 7.1, but a developer claimed it was barely supported,
and a user of 5.1 had problems with capture.

After all this, should we, end users, trust the reliability of the card
matrix and of developers' reports ?
